Silence of The Lambs

This film was made in 1991... major star Jodie Foster starred as Clarice Starling (an FBI agent)who undergoes a task of capturing a serial killer. This serial killer went by the name Hannibal Lecter(Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant murderous cannibal. The movie all in all is very exiting and thrilling to watch. The character Hannibal first comes of as this common, ever so polite human being, until you learn his ways. Jodie Foster's character in this film is relative to her position as bering a serious compassionate agent who wants to bring this man in. Her role as Clarice goes on a risky mission to find "Buffalo Bill" an unstoppable Pyschopathic Serial killer, while being feed clues such as riddles by Hannibal Lecter. Buffalo Bill is a man who kidnapps and kills women. Agent Clarice's only way of finding this man is with the help from Hannibal Lecter. As a prisoner Hannibal is willing to help Clarice with the risk of her own life.

The movie has it high and low points, lighteng wise. Some scenes where there wasn't much light was a bit hard to make out what was going on. However throughout the entire film i was able to understand and follow what was happening.

Overall Silence of The Lambs is an all time remembered movie. I highly reccomend this movie to anyone who enjoy gory, thrilling, creepy type movie. Its somewhat out of the norm, to be a cannibal, you think.

Of Mice and Men

This movie was based on the novel Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck. Its a story about two men named George and Lennie that travels to find a lifestyle of thier dreams. Gary Sinise starred as George Milton the one who is like the brains of the two and controls the situations him and Lennie come across. John Malkovich played as Lennie Small the simple minded brother that needs guidiance. He often times get in trouble unintentionally. In that case George springs into action to help Lennie get out of a sticky situation. Which is why George guides lennie and all his decison making for their own good.

The relationship between Lennie and George in the movie relative to the book, is not as genuine. First of just the characteration the director came up with didn't fit the description of the book with the actors he used in the movie. I expected for Lennie to be much bigger width and length wise. However he was basically tall. As for George, i guess it was neither here or there, Gary who played as him, character grew on me throught the movie. The bond between them felt as though they trully cared about each other like brothers. Lennie didn't speak much, but always done what he had to do on the ranch where they lived and worked. He and George went there to find work, stay out of trouble, and most of all be able to live "live offa the fatta the lan" as Lennie would say in their dream house.

Lighting in the movie was well established, the lighting was in good contrast in dark and light scenes. It wasnt hard to watch and every thing was visible.

The plot of the story resigned in George and Lennie settling in their own piece of land. With that Lennie dream was to tend to the rabbits. Throughtout the novel George holds that dream of Lennie's over his head to keep him focused and out of trouble. Since previously George and Lennie had to flee a town becuase Lennie was accused of trying to rape and little girl, when he only wanted to touch her beautiful dress. After moving to the ranch and months of being there one day that dream dies. Lennie accidentally kills this woman who is the owner's wife. And so the resolution of it all resulted in George having to kill Lennie for his own good.

The Lovely bones

In the film lovely bones, based on a best-selling novel by Alice Sebold, captured a story about a young girl who was murdered however even while she is gone she still watches over her family and her killer from heaven. Saoires Ronan the main character who was playing the little girl that was murdered soley took place of protraying her role. The interaction with her family was warm and personal. The way the director and writer created this film made us believe that those characters really was a family and therefore we care for them. In the many different situations and emotions they explored invited us into their lives which made this movie work and the story line clear/understanding.

The picture of the film was beautiful. The scenery of their perspective of heaven had an aurora of pastel colors and animated design to nature in a different world. Also the lighting effects when it was dark was great aswell. The movie was still visible and strongly freatured its characters. Even when it was a scene that was suppose to be dark, luring, and suspicious.

Goodfella's

Goodfella's is a long movie to watch but every second is worth the wait....The movie was based on New York's mobsters. The toughesst gansta's in the neighborhood were actors Jimmy Conway(Robert De Niro) Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) Paul Cicero (Vario) and Tommy De Vito(Joe Pesci). Both great actors in this film. They played as Irish-Italian Americans. Goodfellas was a reflection of undercover gansters get over in life getting anything and everything they want by all means in the 1960's and 70's. All by creating the biggest hijacks and burglaries the town has ever seen. Its all based on a true story of a mob.The relationship between Jimmy and Tommy was so genuine. As if those scenes trully were their lives. I wasn't sure what type of movie i was getting into but i later found out it dealt with gansters, drugs, and violence and this is the second moive i chose like this. That also included Samuel L. Jacskon too but as a very minor character.

The visual lighting of the movie was clear all of the character could be seen, no special effects or anything.

The characters in the movie were just right, from the way they talked with new jersey/newyork accents to the way the looked. I feel this movie really viewed how hard hitting crimes were on the rise in New York during that time. As well as drugs playing a major role, specifically cocaine.

The summary overall is a tragic web of connections that all intertwine between the gansters. Dealing with illegal drugs, many killings, and dirty money. The end results in Henry's marriage to Karen ended in separation with her getting custody of their children, and Cicero and Conway will spend the rest of their lives in prison. Cicero died in 1988. Conway's title card explains that he was eligible for parole in 2004, though he died in prison in 1996.

Pulp Fiction

So where do i start.... well The movie i seen was Pulp Fiction(made in 1994).
First off I really enjoyed it I thought it was a great movie. It was somewhat of a Drama packed film. It takes place in L.A, Southern California. This movie showed the crime scenes of L.A. A story of violence and redemption. A lot of big movie actors played in this film. Actors John Travolta and Samuel Jackson played as hit men. The cool, tough guy role. i especially enjoyed watching Samuel Jackson play his role. I think he took full character of a hit men. He was a comic very fun to watch (lol). Scenes where he investigeted a young man and quoted a bible scripture before killing someone were the best. On the other hand Samuel Jackson isn't my favorite actor but he definately did a good job in this movie. Actually he was more of the serious no-tolerant hit men who wil get the job done. Reason being in the beginning of the movie the boss of the two hit men, Ving Rhames(who played as Marcellus Wallace) most valuable possession ended up in a group of boys hands who were crooks. And so the hit men's job Samuel Jackson(who played Jules Winnfield) and Jonh Travolta (who played as Vincent Vega) had to retrieve the stolen item that was kept in a breif case. John Travolta's charater was more of the cool charming gansta'. He was the perfect fit for a hit man partnered up with Samuel in this film. Furthermore, the whole plot of the story entertaining to watch. I also learned about the types of things that went on doing that time. For instance the kind of drug they used, heroin was quite popular and cocaine. Popular music like "Coffee Shop Music," "Jungle Boogie", "Ace Of Spades" and "Son Of A Preacher Man" just to name a few. The beatles and Elvis Presley was commonly played. Hair stlyes women wore were bobs, and guys slicked their hair back or had a jerry curl. The relationship between john and Samuel was believable. They had the connection that just made the scences work. One thing i can say i didn't like about the film maybe was how John's character died. After coming from out of the bathroom he was killed by a guy named Butch who was a boxer in the movie by a gun. Early in the movie John said something insulting to the Butch, and so later it was implied that Butch keyed his car after John talked about how "he wished he could have caught the basterd who keyed his car." Butch was also hired by, Marcellus Wallace, the boss and was told to throw his fight. Though he ended up killing the man, and so now Butch was trying to stay out of dodge from the boss. This twisted tale of revenge resulted in Marcellus making a deal with the boxer guy. Overall the premise of the story was clear. What makes the movie interesting to watch was the different view points of each character as well. It would go back to a certain scene but show it from a whole other view point. Not in a confusing way at all i understood was the writer and director was trying to do. :)
